Plumbing Checks Before a Waikīkī Guest Checks In
A brief pre-arrival plumbing check can prevent an avoidable service call during a stay. Property managers can confirm toilets flush and stop normally, sinks and showers drain, faucets shut off, disposals operate where provided, and there is no visible leakage under sinks or around water equipment.
Pay particular attention to known recurring issues rather than assuming a prior temporary fix remains effective. A small cabinet leak or slow drain is easier to address before occupancy than during a guest stay.
Managers should also make sure emergency building/security contact information is available internally and that staff know the rule: any live uncontrolled water flow is reported to building security/front desk immediately.
The goal is not an elaborate inspection; it is catching obvious problems before they become guest incidents.
